Forum rules

** Please post an introduction before posting here! **

1) Respect is paramount. Play nice or you will get the boot. Try to keep comments as constructive and/or positive. It doesn't mean you can't disagree, but anything that could be considered 'scathing', 'burning', or personal attacks are forbidden. Its not funny, I don't care if its 'sarcastic' or 'witty'. Don't do it.

2) Everyone has the right to believe or NOT believe something posted on the board. Anything that is posted will be subject to scrutiny of others, so please expect others may express views contrary to yours.

3) Sexual or adult (18+) topics are not permitted in this section of the board.

4) If you have a problem with a member of the board, please deal with it privately. The management does not intervene in personal conflict. We assume you are adult enough by posting here to sort it out on your own. However, if it becomes public warfare, we will ban both parties. Keep private problems private.

5) Do not be a twit. We are intelligent people. We expect a certain level of intelligence and maturity from other people. Screaming about vampire hunters, were hunters, physical shapeshifting or the apocalypse the-sky-is-falling will make you look like an idiot. Just don't.

6) While debate is very important, we ask you keep your language clean, avoid personal insults and attacks, and avoid making a pompus ass of yourself. You do not know everything, don't pretend you do. This board is to help people learn. Insulting people doesn't help them learn and creates a negative enviroment.

6) No spamming. This board has an internal message system if you would like to chat with a fellow member. Links and resources can be posted in the appropriate forum.

7) There is a 'three strikes' policy here at the den. If you get three warnings, you are banned. A warning will be given for small offenses. Posting of inappropriate topics, derailing topics, starting flamewars, public name calling, etc. There are three things that will get you insta-banned. One is uttering threats, two is threatening or being verbally abusive towards the staff of the board, and three is spam. That includes post-whoring with inappropriate or inane posts after being asked to stop.

8) Management attempts to be as neutral as possible, however, in the event that an admin or moderator has stepped into a conversation as a moderating influence it is because it is starting to violate one of the above policies. If an admin asks you to stop, you stop. You do not argue with the admin, when it comes to moderation or behavior issues. Please remember that you are here by the grace of the admin. Period. Like a guest in a private house, you can be asked or forced to leave if you behave like an asshole.

So here's a random opportunity to laugh at me!
When my sister is home from college, we share a room. Here's the conversation we had this morning:
"You were growling in your sleep last night."
"What...?"
"GROWLING. Like, GROWLING growling. Only for a few minutes. It scared the crap out of me. I couldn't sleep."

 Now I really wish I could remember what I was dreaming about...

So, just out of curiosity, has anything like this ever happened to you? Not just "talking" in your sleep, but perhaps also if you sleepwalk, do you ever do anything animal-like while you're asleep?

:contentcat:

Haha! That's funny. :p Something very similar happened to me when I was younger (maybe around age 16?), with my cousin Michael. He was staying with us for a couple weeks during the summer, and we had mattresses pulled out into the living room so that my younger sister, he and I could all stay in the same room together.

One morning, I woke up to him talking to my mom in her room, and he sounded worried. He was saying, "I think she's possessed. She was growling in her sleep and wouldn't wake up," or something very much along those lines (can't remember verbatim). I thought it was hilarious, and started laughing to get their attention. Even as fanatically religious as my mother is, she didn't think I was possessed, and we eventually just comforted him with saying that I make weird noises in my sleep.

I do talk and argue in my sleep, as well, so I think that I'm just very vocal during sleep---whether that be "animal" vocalities or "people" vocalities. LoL

When I was about 12 I once had my aunt and uncle sleep on the fold out couch under my bunk bed.
I came out into the lounge that morning to find them telling my parents about how I sounded a lot like a Furby when I talked in my sleep.
My family's pet name for me for the next year or two onwards was Furby....

I've just asked OD if I make any interesting sounds in my sleep and he says I do growl a little bit, I mostly just snore though. He has woken up a couple of times to find me latched on to his arm (either biting or holding on to it in a death grip) purring however. To hear this makes me wonder what the hell I was so pleased about in my dream that had me clamped on to something purring.

Wow. I'm glad she didn't think you were possessed, Krissy. :swirly: That could have been a disaster  (or at least kind of awkward).

Furby! Awww, I used to want one so much when I was a child...and my parents never got me one. Lol.
Aw, I wish I could wake up purring! But an alarm clock going off at 5:45 cuts off all positive emotions I could possibly be feeling while I'm asleep, so that never happens
